About the 2016 EPA P3 Research Project at SIUC
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s P3 – People, Prosperity, and the Planet—Program is a unique college competition for designing solutions for a sustainable future.
The first phase of the grant of $75,000 was awarded to the SIUC research group to take their design to real world application.
The SIUC student research team and the faculty advisors have successfully completed the Phase-1 research that included the sustainable recovery of Rare Earth Elements from a coal ash. Thecomplete Phase-1 report and the plan for continous work as proposed for the Phase-2 work is presented in the website.
